At Colloqio, we believe that AI companions should be truly private. Unlike cloud-based AI assistants that send your every word to remote servers, Colloqio was built from the ground up to protect your privacy.

• On-Device Processing: All AI conversations happen locally on your device
• No Data Collection: We don't collect, analyze, or store your conversations
• No Account Required: Use Colloqio without creating an account or providing personal information
• No Tracking: We don't track your usage, behavior, or conversations

Information We Don't Collect

Let's be clear about what we don't collect:

• Your conversations with your AI companion
• Names, nicknames, or personal details you share
• Your memories stored in the app
• Your location data
• Your contacts or phone data
• Usage patterns or behavioral data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes

How On-Device AI Works

When you first use Colloqio, the AI model is downloaded once to your device. After this initial download:

• All AI processing happens locally on your phone
• No internet connection is required for conversations
• Your messages never leave your device
• Memories and context are stored only on your device

This means even we cannot access your conversations — because they never reach us in the first place.

Premium Features: Avatar Generation

Colloqio offers an optional premium feature: AI-generated custom avatars. This is the only feature that requires internet connectivity and external processing.

How Avatar Generation Works

• Avatar generation requests are processed by our secure cloud servers
• Only the avatar style preferences you select are transmitted
• No conversation data or personal memories are sent
• Generated images are delivered to your device and then deleted from our servers
• We do not store, retain, or use your avatar generation requests

Data Storage

All your data is stored locally on your device:

• Conversations: Stored in encrypted local storage on your device
• Memories: Your AI companion's memories are stored only on your device
• Preferences: App settings are stored locally
• AI Model: Downloaded and cached on your device

If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device. We have no backups because we never had your data.

Third-Party Services

Colloqio minimizes third-party dependencies to protect your privacy:

• App Store: The app is distributed via Apple's App Store, which has its own privacy policy
• Crash Reporting: We may collect anonymized crash reports to improve app stability. These contain no personal data or conversation content

We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or data brokers.

Children's Privacy

Colloqio is designed for users of all ages. Since we don't collect personal data, we comply with children's privacy laws by default. However, parents should be aware that children using the app can have private conversations with the AI companion that parents cannot access remotely.

Your Rights

Because your data stays on your device, you have complete control:

• Access: All your data is accessible on your device within the app
• Deletion: Delete your data anytime through app settings or by uninstalling
• Portability: Your data exists only on your device — it's already yours
• No Data Requests Needed: We can't provide your data because we don't have it

Security

Your local data is protected by:

• iOS device encryption
• App sandbox isolation
• Secure local storage APIs
• No network transmission of sensitive data

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify users through the app for significant changes
• Never change our core promise: your conversations stay on your device
