Colloqio doesn't rely on cloud servers to process your conversations. The entire AI model runs directly on your iPhone or iPad, meaning every word you type is processed locally — never sent to a remote server.

This is possible thanks to advances in model quantization, a technique that compresses large language models to run efficiently on mobile hardware. The original model (tens of gigabytes) is optimized down to approximately 2GB without losing conversational quality.

How It Works Under the Hood

When you open Colloqio, the AI model loads into your device's memory and uses Apple's Neural Engine and Metal Performance Shaders for hardware-accelerated inference. This means:

• No network latency: Responses start generating immediately without waiting for a server round-trip.
• No server dependency: There's no cloud service that could go down, slow down, or get deprecated.
• No data leakage: Your prompts and the AI's responses never travel across the internet.
• Consistent performance: Speed doesn't depend on server load or your internet connection quality.

Most AI chatbots forget you the moment you close the app. Every conversation starts from zero — you have to re-introduce yourself, repeat your preferences, and re-explain your context. Colloqio is different.

Colloqio's persistent memory system automatically creates and maintains memories from your conversations. Over time, your AI companion builds a rich understanding of who you are, what you care about, and how you prefer to communicate.

Privacy means control. Inside the app's Memory Bank, you can see everything your companion remembers. You can delete individual memories, clear them all at once, or let them grow naturally. There are no hidden profiles or shadow data — what you see is everything.

We don't collect data because we can't collect data. It's not a policy decision that could change with new management or a revised terms of service — it's an architectural decision baked into how the app works.

What "Zero Collection" Actually Means

Many apps claim to respect your privacy while quietly collecting analytics, crash reports, or "anonymized" usage data. Colloqio takes a fundamentally different approach:

• No analytics SDKs: We don't embed Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, or any other tracking library inside the app.

How Avatars Work

Avatar generation is the only feature in Colloqio that uses cloud processing. Creating custom AI-generated images requires more computational power than a mobile device can provide efficiently. Here's what happens:

• You select your preferred avatar style and characteristics.
• Your design preferences (not conversation data) are sent to our avatar generation service.
• A unique avatar is generated and downloaded to your device.
• The avatar is stored locally from that point forward.

What About Privacy?

We designed avatar generation with the same privacy mindset as the rest of Colloqio:

• No conversation data sent: Only your visual style preferences are transmitted — never conversation content, memories, or personal information.
• Minimal data exchange: The request contains only the design parameters needed to generate your avatar.
• Local storage: Once generated, your avatar lives on your device. It doesn't need to be re-downloaded.
